Activities - what to do!

The biggest and highest mountain range in the Western Cape surrounds us. The Kogelberg Nature Reserve with the most "fynbos" species in the world.

More mountain walks than you can handle in a month.
Hikers can choose from an endless variety of trails leading to amazing mountain pools and water falls.

World class mountain bike routes of Oak Valley, Paul Cluver, Thandi, Lebanon, Oude Molen and many more await you.

We are also the biggest apple and pear producing district in South Africa.
The Elgin valley has extensive wine routes or you can visit the world-renowned wine routes of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschoek, only 20min away.

A popular wedding venue destination and you can see local and international artists at the open-air theatre at Paul Cluver which is only 10min away.

The Elgin/Grabouw Country Club is 5min drive with its conference centre and function hall.
Relax in the rustic restaurant or at the bar which has a big Sports screen.
There are squash courts, tennis courts, a bowling green and cricket field.
This all over-looks the biggest fresh water dam which is privately owned in South Africa.
Here you can swim, row and fish for bass to your hearts content.
There are some amazing 4x4 routes in the valley.

Only 45 minutes from Cape Town Airport, Table Mountain and Robben Island, it is ideally suited for a quick city breakaway.

You can pop over the mountain to catch up on your tan at one of the beautiful beaches of Gordans Bay or Strand, or take a sun-set cruise or go for a relaxing evening out at a local restaurant over-looking the sea.
Or if you are one for gambling, go for the glitter and dazzle of the Caledon Casino.

Whale watching in Hermanus - watch these gently giants coming in to frolic and calve from closest land based sites or from one of the boat tours.

For the more adventurous there is Shark-cage diving at various places.

And for the adrenalin-junkies there is the newly opened Zip-line Canopy tour situated in the pristine World Heritage site which offer nail-biting rides of up to 300m above "fynbos" covered gorges.

Whether you are a bird-watcher, tree-hugger, or just in need of some "leave-me-alone-I-want-to-do-absolutely-nothing" in beautiful surroundings and rest, then this is the place for you.
